We live and breathe kiting

Kiteseason

It all started on snow – freeriding, snowparks, and long hikes into the mountains where lifts don’t reach. That’s when traction kites came into play. The first foil kite, and with it, a whole new way of moving in the mountains. Faster climbs, further from the crowds, more freeriding options, more freedom.

Everything we know today comes from freeriding. Gradually, we moved onto water – flat, waves, freestyle, big air. And it didn’t stop there. The desire to ride and progress naturally led us to start teaching others. That’s how Kiteseason was born – not as a business plan, but as a natural evolution of passion turning into a profession.

School in Sicily

Our summer base is Sicily, where we’ve run our own kite school since 2012, along with a rental and test center. From spring to autumn, we’re in the water – teaching beginners and advanced riders, renting out gear, and testing new models every day.

We don’t teach on “just any” kites. We know every piece of equipment, we’ve tested it ourselves, and we only sell it once we know how it performs in real conditions.

The school is staffed by IKO-certified instructors who work with you from your first launch to your first kiteloops. We know it’s not just about the lesson – it’s about safety, the experience, and making sure you fall in love with it just like we did.

Test Center

The school includes a test center with the latest gear from Ozone, Core, North and Mystic. We rotate kites regularly, so they’re always in top condition. If you want to know the difference between XR8 and Edge, or how the new Vortex handles, this is where you find out. And if you like the kite? You can take it home – knowing it’s already been tried and tested.

Norway – Our Winter Base

In winter, we head north. We’ve been going to Norway since 2009 – every year, without fail. We have the facilities, the experience, and most importantly, mountains with wind. We run snowkiting trips for clients and, in our free time, we test equipment in the toughest conditions: wind, frost, and long traverses. Over the years, dozens of models have passed through our hands. We know what lasts and what doesn’t – and we use that know-how when selecting gear for our e-shop.

Alaska – A Dream Come True

Being mountain lovers, Alaska had long been a dream destination. We first visited two years ago – for freeriding – and soon added kiting to the mix. Climbing 1,000 vertical meters with a kite, packing it away, and riding down on a board – an unforgettable experience.

In 2025, we took our first clients to Alaska for a snowkiting and freeriding expedition. It was a success, and it allowed us to test equipment to the fullest – in a place where there’s no room for shortcuts.

Who’s Behind Kiteseason

Kiteseason is not about one person. It’s a team.

  • Radek Blažek – founder, rider, from snow to waves to freeriding.
  • Jirka Ševčík – school manager who keeps everything running smoothly.
  • Our instructors – all IKO licensed, experienced, friendly, and passionate about teaching you to ride.
  • The testing team is us and our instructors – riders who spend hundreds of hours each year on water and snow, testing every new product before it reaches the shop.
  • And the rest of the crew you’ll meet in Sicily, Norway, or on the phone when you need advice.

Why do we do it?

Because we still love it. And because we believe that if we sell you something, we should be able to ride it ourselves.
